Split Rock Spring Traditional Cache

Park off Rt. 255 at N41 23.230 W078 33.535 at a yellow gate. Follow
the road for .93 miles until you come to an intersection. Turn
right and go .5 miles. This is the easiest way over the bank and
then follow the GPS. Generally an easy and beautiful walk. This is
a no 4-wheeler area but be carefull because with most areas they do
trespass and tend to go to fast for conditions. Permission has been
obtianed from all ownwers.
This is a micro cache. It is a waterproof match container painted
black containing only a log book. Park on Rt.255 at N41 23.230 W078
33.535 at a yellow gate. For a shorter walk to the cache and
requiring some bushwacking after you go around the gate-hiking
permitted- go up the small incline until it levels out. Take very
sharp right and you will see a billboard. Head towards it. You
won't go very far and on your left you will see a very old road
making a tunnel through the trees. Follow this until you come to a
pole line. Turn left for a short distance and you will come across
a road. Turn right. Soon you will come to the remains of a dam.
Follow the cement wall into the trees and you will see a path.
Follow it for awhile and you will find 2 streams. Follow the one on
the left staying on the right side to the cache. At this point all
paths disappear. This is a Rattlesnake and tick area. This hike has
about a 3 difficulty. Permission has been obtained from all
ownwers.
