Geocache Description:

A quick roll in the hay--
Oops, I mean "WALK" in the hay!

At a recent event hayred won the ammo can that I had my eye on. Being the gentleman that he is, he generously gave me the big old ammo can!

So, in honor of his generosity, I am placing the ammo can here for him. Of course, you are all invited to come find it as well. I tried to get it down closer to his neck of the woods. But since I dont know exaclty what neck he lives in , I just headed south.

Hayred, this one's for you!

Now, here's why they say this hayfield is haunted---
There's a marsh just beyond the cache filled with peeper frogs (yuck). One night in the late 1920's a man from a nearby farm went frog-gigging here. He was a little tipsy and fell on his own gig. He became disoriented and fell in the deep part of the marsh and eventually either bled to death or drowned (stories differ). He is buried in the cemetery that you will park in for this cache.

It is said that sometimes at dusk the peepers go silent and the man can be heard moaning for help. He wanders from the spot where he died to his grave, gig in hand. So, if you are here at dusk or at night and the peepers go silent..run--don't walk--back to your car and just take the DNF.

And by the way, I hid this cache around 6PM and the peepers were a cacophony of screeches and screams (double-yuck).
