Your trek to the cache follows Swains Creek through a Blue Gum High Forest dotted with magnificent ferns. There are creek crossings to negotiate and steps to climb. Watch out for exposed tree roots waiting to trip you up. It's not really a cache to attempted in the dark. There's lots of flora and fauna to enjoy that will make you forget that you're in the middle of suburbia, surrounded by houses. |
The cache is around seven metres off the track. There is no need to leave any established tracks until you are almost at GZ. You don't need to climb too high and you'll see an obvious, easy slopy scramble up to the cache location underneath a rock overhang. Please take care to minimise environmental damage and avoid leaving a trail that might give non-cachers a clue that there may be something hidden " up there"
There are many different tracks you can take that will all eventually lead to the cache location along the well defined jumble of paths. The hint is very specific and should be used if your first attempt is unsuccessful to avoid damaging the undergrowth on the side of the track or the moss covered rocks. Please use the hint rather than just bash around where you assume the cache may be and unintentially destoy the area near the cache.
While you are here, take some time to check out some of the other tracks - it's a chance to enjoy some solitude in a bush environment without travelling out of the city. You might also like to have a look at our nearby Park's Reserve and Campbell Park caches while you are in the area.
