This cache is part of the 2009 Huron House Boys' Home series. We
hope geocachers will enjoy the wetlands and learn about both of
these valuable community resources Did you know…? The
Wawanosh Wetlands Conservation Area was used as borrow pit for
Highway 402 construction. The resulting holes in the ground filled
with water and local birders noticed migrating birds making use of
the site. The Conservation Authority, in cooperation with a number
of donors including Lambton Wildlife Inc., Dow Chemical, Nature
Conservancy of Canada, Mr. and Mrs. Nairn and the federal and
provincial governments were able to purchase the property in 1985
