Geocache Description:



Edenvilla Park - now a public park complete with playing fields, tennis courts and some interesting sculptures and carvings.

Long before this became a public park, the grounds belonged to the Atkinson family. As a young boy (late 1950's - early 1960's), I played in these grounds, climbing trees, building huts, lighting fires, etc - all the stuff you can't do these days. The only real hazard were the two workers on the estate - nicknamed (for purely physical reasons) Rubberneck and Spongebelly! If you got caught, a sharp clip on the ear, a twisted arm, a swift kick to the derriere or perhaps all three, meant you made sure you didn't get caught again!! (Anyway, I could run faster than them, even though they employed stealth tactics like sneaking up on us.) No sueing for assault or child cruelty in those days! These were happy days, so this cache has been named for them. There's a very nice Walled Garden that kids will enjoy - this is locked at 5pm otherwise the park is open.

The cache is a micro with small logbook and pencil.
