Geocache Description:

An easy park and stride along level tarmac path. An ideal location for a quick break along your journey and for a short leg stretch. Can be done in civvies. WHEELCHAIR ACCESSIBLE RIGHT UP TO THE CACHE HIDE.

A chance to visit this beautiful old bridge, now in retirement due to it being too narrow to carry the traffic along to the A59 from the A6069.

There are 2 bridges to see (old and new).

The Ye Ole Survey Monument Rivet can be seen at - N 53° 57.662' W 2° 3.604' - See photo for reference. The rivet is tiny and is set in concrete right next to the end fence post midway across the entrance to the bridge road / footpath.

There is also a Flush Bracket over the side of the bridge parapet at N 53° 57.661' W 2° 3.628' be careful if you are leaning over, it may be better to view this from the river bank.

Two other old items are hiding the cache. The cache is a 35mm cammoflaged tube.

Please take a pen for writing the log.

About Ye Ole Survey Monuments

Ye Ole Survey Monument (YOSM) is a captivating series of caches that pays homage to the remarkable legacy of OutForTheHunt's YSM series (GC45CC).

YOSM caches are strategically positioned at or near Trig Points. These triangulation stations have played a pivotal role as surveying landmarks, contributing to the mapping of expansive territories.

Some of these points, bearing historical significance, might now be situated on private land or have vanished with time. As a result, the caches are artfully placed in close proximity, reverently acknowledging the historical importance of these survey monuments.

More information, bookmarks and statistics can be found at the YOSM Website

If anybody would like to expand the Ye Ole Survey Monuments Series, please do.
I would ask that you request a number for your cache first at www.yosm.org.uk
so we can keep track of the numbers and names to avoid duplication.
