equinedoc: All of the stages are there but the trail to the last 2 has been fenced off. I will have to retrieve the stages somehow and place them elsewhere

Geocache Description:

Parking is at N 42 17.761 W071 58.897. Terrain is a wide path but has one steep hill . The hike takes you in a large loop which takes about one hour. The snow mobile club keeps these trails open all winter except for the last leg. I will try to keep this cache maintained so it is winter friendly.

This multi cache is located at the Buck Hill Conservation area in Spencer, MA. This area abuts Camp Marshall which is a great 4-H camp attended by children with horses during the summer. You can hike all you want on the conservation land but not on 4-H land. This means you can’t go anywhere near the cabins or go across the road where the barns and dining hall are. When you park, go directly to the wide path marked Midstate Trail. The waypoints are micros. The final is a Lock-n-Lock container. Be careful with the items at the first 2 waypoints. They are attached down and can be dislodged if you are not careful with them. After you find the third waypoint go over the stream using the wooden foot bridge. Go down the trail to the right after the bridge. There is an orange diamond above eye level on a tree about 100 yards down the trail. Do not go past this diamond. Just before the diamond take the narrow path into the woods on the left. This is marked by a white arrow. This hike is very dog friendly but please keep your dogs with you until you get on the path so they don’t bother the children or the animals. I have named this The Golden Walk because I walk my Golden Retrievers here several times a week. They are my best pals and they love it here. I also do agility, tracking and field work with them. They are quite the talented boys! There used to be educational signs on many of the paths pointing out the different kinds of vegetation and stream life. Unfortunately these signs have fallen down and been discarded. Not many people hike here anymore so I hope this cache will bring more people to this spot. Hopefully it will get parents to think about sending their kids to camp here as well. I have put 2 TB’s and a Geocoin into the cache as well as a gift for the FTF and a couple of dog related items. I would love to have people trade dog toys here. Have fun. Check out gimme shelter too while you are there.
