This is the first place you will need to make a decision on which way you want to go. If you take the trail that heads North, you will be hiking right along the Romero Canyon creek for about 3 miles. At that point you will find yourself at a 4 way cross road that will demand another decision from you on where to go next. You can go straight (relatively speaking) to the top, or loop back down to where you parked at the bottom. You can also choose a very scenic trail that loops around the front side of the mountain that also winds up at the top (East Camino Cielo road). The views are spectacular! If you do the whole trail series (something resembling a "twisted" figure 8), you will have walked almost 13 miles by the end of the day
