A short walk up a deeply rutted track and then a bridle path brings you to a magnificent view across the South Downs.
We replaced the cache 14th February 2015. Please leave it upright to keep it watertight.
The original cache was placed beside an old gate that had lost its fence. Now the old gate has been removed and there are two new gates without fences, I suspect fences will be added shortly so in the mean time the cache has been moved, however camouflage for the cache is part of the old gate. In time when the new gates and fences have been finished the cache may return to its first position.
You may climb the hill from the bus stop at Denton Corner. Or leave your car in Seaview Road. It’s just a short 15-minute walk to the cache from here. On a clear day the view is outstanding. No tea bar, no toilets, no gift shop, no shelter. Don’t go if it’s raining! Following the bridle path a few metres further up the hill from the cache will give you superb views of the coast.
All this, just to find a gate that goes nowhere, and my First Cache. You lucky people.
