Geocache Description:

This cache is for SCAR 09 and should not be sought out until after 5:30 on May 29, 2009. Any logs before that will be deleted.

An ammo can located near the Pazeraevka cemetery, a stop on the Riverlands Self-Guided Heritage Tour.

This cemetery was established in 1928 by the Doukhobors living in the vicinity of the former Pazeraevka village, also called Pozirayevka. The cemetery has 82 interments with 17 graves having no marker. Over decades past Doukhobor people gathered here on June 29th to celebrate 'Petrov Dien' (St. Peter's Day). this is the Doukhobor Peace Day. In 1895 on this day the Doukhobors became known internationally. A group of some 7000 Doukhobors in three areas of the Russian Caucasus totally refused to kill other human beings regardless of the consequences. In an act of symbolism they burned all of their arms.
