Geocache Description:

Pretty Vacant A short walk or a longer walk depending on parking. Beautiful countryside and an intriguing cache site.

Pretty Vacant Please dont go to above co-ordinates, the cache is not there but within about 1.5 miles. As a now ageing punk rocker i wanted a cache to remember my all time favourite band and found a suitable site in the countryside to link to the recent advertising campaign fronted by the Lead Singer of the sex pistols which has been on your TV and one of their all time classic singles. You will also have seen the lead singer on I'm a celebrity with the ostriches. The pistols caused havoc in the late 70's, my parents said they wouldnt last but here we are 30+ years on and the music has stood the test of time. The Sex Pistols are an English punk rock band that formed in London in 197G. The Sex Pistols are responsible for initiating the punk movement in the United Kingdom and inspiring many later punk and alternative rock musicians. Although their initial career lasted just two-and-a-half years and produced only four singles and one studio album, Never Mind the B*******, Here's the Sex Pistols, they are regarded as one of the most influential acts in the history of popular music. “Pretty Vacant” was the third single released by the punk rock band Sex Pistols. This ode to apathy was released on July 1, 1977. The song marked the band’s only appearance on the British music show Top of the Pops. Also, the riff is alledged to have been inspired by SOS by ABBA The cache site is Vacant and if you look over your shoulder is quite Pretty. The actual cache location was once something grand, i have been unable to establish exactly what and the mysterys surrounding the site and Old Berry Hall will be good to hear from any knowledgeable cachers. The music survived its a pitty that this building has been left to decay. A short walk with 2 stiles from short parking or alternativley there is a very pretty, slightly longer walk which can be taken from parking long (note you are on camera as you enter this area), cross bridge and head for berry hall, part of this walk can be muddy. You are looking for a small container of an slightly unusual shape. Please don't disturb the cache site and replace exactly as found. There is barbed wire in the vicinity but the cache is located away from this and there is no need to cross over the barbed wire fence. Cache contains Log & Pen – possibly room for small exchanges.
