Geocache Description:

Businesses close and newspaper boxes are moved. So it’s time for a new DDD LaG. This is an offset cache that will have you gather info at the posted coordinates for the final cache, which is a bison tube.

This multi will take you on a short tour of historic downtown LaGrange KY, one of a few towns that still have an active railroad track that runs down the middle of Main St. You will be introduced to two different kinds of stations in town, at the first and last stops of the tour.

Part I – questions to answer:

A. Go to the listed coordinates. This place thinks it is the graundeur of the two stations. When I first moved to LaGrange, about seven years ago, this was the office of the Property Value Administrator. With the bars on the window, maybe it was once a bank. I’ve always wondered if the store across the street was really opened in 1887. Look at the number on the Engine that you will see here. A= the last digit – 2.
B. Go to N 38°24.498 W285 22.760 Sit on the bench and look across the street. The building with the red roof is the former Methodist Episcopal Church. What was the sanctuary (36 feet by 66 feet) was built in 1888-1889. This building now house offices for the Jailer and for our Congressman. At your feet is a LaGrange marker stamped in the concrete. Look at the three-digit number. B = the last digit, as you see it when seated.
C. Go west to the next block to N 38°24.463’ W085° 22.816’. This is the historical society and museum. Look at the year it was founded. C = first digit plus the third digit.
D. Go to N 38°24’440 W 085 22.761. Across the street is the Oldham County Jail and the Oldham County Courthouse. On Saturday mornings there is a Farmer's Market on the courthouse lawn, so watch out for mugglers. On the window of the store behind you is a LaGrange Police Sticker, with a three-digit number. D= the first digit + the third digit – the middle digit.

Part II -You should now have the information needed to calculate the final location, which is (or was) another kind of station and is located at:

N 38° 24.AB3
W085° 22.CD0

Have fun! I’d like to know if anyone finds the exact final location without actually going to the four waypoints listed above. (No initials or numbers will be given, but someone knows whom I am talking about.)
