Tesoro Escondido Traditional Cache

JCMARTIN925: So sorry we didn't abide by the rules regarding the archiving :( It wasn't intentional. We've been distracted since we moved from Texas to Michigan. Haven't been caching at all.

Geocache Description:

Our first hide...we've enclosed a nice little gift for the ftf. Hope you enjoy the search should be an easy find.

Folklore has it that in a very deep canyon off of the Brazos River, located just a mile or so south of here, a train with a load of gold was robbed and the loot taken into Brewton Canyon and hidden in a cave. Periodically large rocks break away and fall off the bluff lining the rim of the canyon. It's assumed that if there ever was a cave full of gold then it must have been covered and the entrance closed by falling rocks as it has never been found. One of the ranches which encompasses much of the canyon is named Tesoro Escondido... Spanish for Hidden Treasure.
