You know... Some of us got into geocaching to complement our love
of the outdoors and to take us to places we have never been to. A
nice walk along a path. The nice views of a lake. The wildlife that
is so abundant around us.
Something happened along the way. We ended up dashing from
wooded cache to cache. Our spouses and kids lost interest in our
mad dash. We stopped taking note of the beauty that surrounds
us.
This cache is located 60 feet off of the Black Oak Trail (2 mile
loop) that starts at
The Little Red Schoolhouse ...

Signs at the Trailhead (waypoint listed below)
While the cache is not far from the trailhead I encourage you to
take the entire loop. It is a really nice trail
Some of the highlights of the trail?
- Beehives
- Golden Carp in the reeded area of the slough near the
trailhead
- Nice views of the slough
- Historical Marker at the old location of the schoolhouse
- A nice old cache

Grab the spouse and kids and reconnect with the reason we got
into geocaching in the first place. Go on! Hike the entire loop
trail. :)
... and Slough Down!
FYI... I am playing with the pronunciation of the word Slough
for the sake of a clever name for the series. The correct
pronunciation of the word is ...
Slough also slew or slue
Pronunciation:\'slü, 'slau
