Vid startkordinaterna finns resterna av ett gammalt torp som heter Westgöteby. På platsen finns en skylt med texten:
Här låg Westgöteby. Enligt jord- och kyrkoboken bebott åren 1629 – 1947.
Sista ägarna 1922 – 1947 var syskonen Anna Sofia Hansson och Per August Hansson. (Motala Hembygdsförening).

För att komma till Westgöteby får du ta en promenad i den fina skogen vid Djurkälla och Ödeby, motorfordonstrafik är inte tillåten i området. Djurkällaplatån är uppbyggd under istiden och ingår i den s.k. mellansvenska israndzonen. På de torra och magra sand- och grusmarkerna växer i första hand tallskog. Här och var finns lövskogspartier med storvuxna askar, lönnar och ekar, bl.a. vid lämningarna efter det gamla torpet Westgöteby. Det gamla kulturlandskapet har även bevarats kring Ödeby gård.

The cordinates take You to the ruins of an old crofters holding, called Westgöteby. At the place a small sign is telling that the place was inhabited 1629 – 1947 and that the last owners was Anna Sofia Hansson and her brother Per August Hansson.

You will find the cache at N 58 35 (ABC-182) E 014 58 (DCB-277)
If You go by car, park the car at N 58 35 636 E 014 59 242, and then take a walk in the forest of Djurkälla and Ödeby. It´s not allowed to go by car or motorcycle in this area.
