Geocache Description:

This cache is placed on the outside edge of the cemetery grounds.

I discovered this place by accident one day while riding around. I stopped to look. You can really feel alot of history here. I thought it would be a good place for a cache. I couldn't believe there wasn't one here already.
I placed this cache here to bring your attention to the small Confederate Cemetery in the middle of the grounds. If you look due South of the cache site you will see the historic marker. You can enter the cemetery from the East side if you wish to check it out. Please be respectfull.

During the Civil War. The Central House Hotel that was located near the railroad was converted to a hospital. When more than 200 soldiers there died from wounds or disease, they were buried here. Many of the men were unidentified. Civil War veterans buried in family plots include Brigadier General Evander McNair.
