Stop and Listen Traditional Cache

Camouflaged film canister holds log only. Bring own pencil and bug dope. As things green up, you might want to bring a camera as well.
This is the first in a series dedicated to water that I am putting up in the Eagle River and Chugiak area. I love this spot. It is a wonderful place to just listen. You will know what I mean once you get out of your vehicle. There is a small gravel pull-out right in front of the cache. Thanks to Mainframe and Geocub for helping me put this up. Cache is placed in a position so that you only need to remove the top of the film canister and not the entire cache. However, note the top of the film canister is actually facing downward as the cache is placed. Please do not remove the entire cache; remove only the cap. While this cache is not rated as wheelchair accessible due to the lack of paved parking or transit area, this is a cache that the disabled can participate in. They may not be able to get right at the cache, but they can participate in the listen part and enjoy the beauty of this often overlooked spot. It will be much prettier once all the green hits and in the fall when the leaves have turned this is a very lovely spot. There is no need to stray far from the parking spot. The cache is not in a place where one needs to climb or do any bushwhacking. Unfortunately, our EPE was hovering in the mid 20s when we placed the cache. So, as an extra help to finding the cache, you don't need to get wet or battle any devil's club.
