Geocache Description:

Another in the Portage Series taking you to the old downtown:)

A short series of caches in Portage, In.

The city of Portage was incorporated in 1968, making it 40 years old in 2008. If you grew up in Portage in the 70’s & 80’s you became accustomed to driving to other cities if you wanted to go shopping or see a movie and in the late 80’s driving down highway 6 you only had two stoplights between Swanson Road and the High School. The times have changed and this series of caches will take you to some old and some new areas. The school arcoss the street was the high school until 1981, I think, it now is the larger of the two middle schools in the city. Stealth will diffinately be needed for this one at times and at other times it will be a quick png. The container is smaller than a film canister but bigger than a nano and you will need to bring your own writing utensil.
