Geocache Description:

This is one of three separate caches located on the northern portion of the Log Train Trail. These caches are not a series.

The description of the caches, the ranking of the terrain and difficulty, and the assigning of attributes for these three separate caches is based on the difficulty of doing all three of the separate caches as if they are a series, which they are not.

If you were doing these three separate caches as a series, which it is not, the best way to do it would be to park a vehicle at the end of Bainbridge Road, then drive another to the trailhead at Woolsey Rd. If you wanted to, you could do this in reverse, as these caches are not part of a series. However, if only using one vehicle, or a bicycle, starting from Woolsey Rd is the shortest option.

There is a tricky creek crossing on Hal Creek, that is do-able without getting your feet wet during most of the year. If you come from Woolsey Rd, and go back the same way, there is no need to cross this creek, as none of the caches are located south of this creek.

I feel that I should point out that doing all three caches like they were a series, which they are not, requires a minimum walk of 13KM! That is the one-way distance between the Woolsey Rd trailhead and where you would park on Bainbridge Rd. If you come from the north and return the same way, it is slightly longer, and of course, more repetitive, as you’ve seen all this on they way in.

The real good news is that this portion of the Log Train Trail (or what Mapsource Topo Canada calls Bainbridge Rd.) is un-crowded, and also very flat. There are some good views of farm country, and a few blown out creeks from landslides (darn that logging up in the Beauforts).

All three of these caches, which are very clearly not part of any series, are easy to find.
