Geocache Description:

[ENG] A cache in Spinea
[ITA] Una cache a Spinea

[ENG] Spinea is a town in the province of Venice, Veneto, Italy. In 2007 Spinea had an estimated population of 24,538 inhabitants. The most ancient finds date the origin of Spinea from the Roman age. In the 1st century BC the Romans began the construction of roads in the area between Padua and Altino. In this way, the name "Spinea" seems to originate from "Spineda" or "Spineta", meaning "herringbone". This could be indicate that in this area there were two intersecting systems of streets, differently oriented, forming a system roads like a fish bone or spine. Today, you can easily see from a map the streets which cross at right angles, creating a typical Roman grid system (the "graticolato") in the area of Mirano (see cache GC1J9J8).

This is a very easy cache... just placed to a very fast catching. The hidding place is in a public park of Spinea. Good luck! :D

[ITA] Spinea è un paese del Veneto. Nel 2007 la sua popolazione era di 24,538 abitanti. I reperti archeologici sembrano datare le origini di Spinea all'epoca romana. Nel I secolo dC i Romani iniziarono la centuriazione del territorio tra Padova ed Altino, costruendo i tipici sistemi di strade chiamati "graticolato". Il nome di Spinea sembra derivare da Spineda" o "Spineta", cioé "spina di pesce". Questo fatto sembrerebbe significare che nell'area di Spinea si intersecavano due differenti sistemi di centuriazione orientati in modo diverso. Questo fatto aveva originato delle strade che si intersecavano localmente ad angoli non retti, cioé "a spina di pesce". Oggi non resta traccia di queste strade, ma nella zona immediatamente adiacente, verso Mirano, è ancora visibile la centuriazione romana.

Questa è una cache molto facile, creata appositamente per essere semplice e veloce. Il nascondiglio si trova in un parco pubblico di Spinea. Buona fortuna! :D
