This cache is located at the sight of the mysterious Paulding Light. The Paulding Light is a phenomenon that is yet to be explained. It is a light that appears at the site of old Hwy 45 between Watersmeet & Paulding in Michigan's U.P. You can read about it at www.pauldinglightstore.com or on Wikipedia.
First To Find was Timberline Echoes
The cache is a plastic paint container with a logbook and some small items. It would be best to search for this cache during the daytime. At night it is not unusual to see 10 or 15 cars parked along the road to observe the light. Especially on summer evenings.
Just as the area is very popular, it is always very much in need of some clean-up. My son, my brother-in-law, and I once picked up 5 bags of garbage in about a half hour! Please do some cache-in & trash-out. Thanks!
I have placed a night cache nearby that would be perfect if you are here to see the light.
To get to the Paulding Light, take Hwy 45 north out of Watersmeet, Michigan and turn left (West) on Robbins Pond Rd (an unmarked road, really). You will know you missed the road if you see a sign that says entering Ontonagon County, eastern time zone. If you do see that sign, turn around and go back south on Hwy 45. It will then be your first road on the right.
