Another wonderful collection
of old buildings that would provide a great photo opportunity for
those so inclined. Remember though: Take nothing but
photographs; leave nothing but
footprints!
Background.
I love old ruins and the sense
of history they can invoke if your imagination can break the
boundaries of time and envisage the past lives of the occupants.
This was once somebody’s large, spacious home, and they had it well
equipped with below-ground larders and food storage areas as well
as many other out-buildings.
All of these (including the house) have been constructed using
rocks and stones presumably gathered from the local area; just
using bricks around those places where defined and measurable
architecture was required, such as window and doors.
If you take the time to admire the construction and appreciate the
work involved, I’m sure you’ll walk away with at least a small
sense of awe at our pioneers. They don’t make ‘em like that
anymore. Enjoy.
The Cache.
You are looking for a long, round container. It’s
on the public side of the fence. Please check that the container is
sealed tight before you return it and ensure the camouflage is
replaced.
