A magnetic micro located in Albert Square near Manchester Town Hall, part of the Sights of Manchester series. The Cache includes a pencil and a log sheet.
This Cache is part of the “Sights of Manchester” series intended to demonstrate some of Manchester’s interesting buildings and features.
This Cache is located in Albert Square which is worth a visit in its own right as there are various statues located here. The main purpose of the cache, however, is to demonstrate Manchester Town Hall. Designed by the architect Alfred Waterhouse, it was completed in 1877 at a cost of £1 million, and is a fine example of Victorian Gothic Revival. Take time to look at the intricate external carvings and sculptures. At certain times, guided tours of the interior can be attended, where the murals of Ford Madox Brown can be seen. If you want to attend a tour, be sure to check if they are actually running when you plan to visit.
This cache is located very close to the Manchester Town Hall itself. It should be fairly easy to find. The difficulty rating of 3 is because extreme care will need to be taken not to arouse suspicion. Albert Square is generally busy, and is often used for events.
