Ollamh (The Professor) Traditional Cache

The cache is a medium-sized lock-and-lock container with several nice trade items. It is located not far from parking and a public picnic area. The view of Lough Nafooey from the cache site is the real prize. Please be sure to hide the container well but be careful not to damage it.
This cache is to honor my good friend and mentor who has a summer home not far from here. I first visited here in September 2005. I love the entire Connemara region. There is nothing more spectacular than the views of Lough Corrib, Lough Mask, and Lough Nafooey.
The site is about 1.5 miles from Finney on the Clonbur-Finney road and heading toward Lough Nafooey. Take a hard right off the main road on F16005 after farm house, winding up a steep hill with a weather marker and toward the old children's cemetery (marked on most maps). This is an over-the-hill shortcut to the Tourmakedy road.
The site can also be accessed from the Tourmakedy road side by taking a hard left on the first road after Lough Mask ends, heading toward the cemetery, and then on to the overlook site. If the turn is missed, take a left onto the main road to Finney and then make a left to go up the hill on F16005.
