Geocache Description:

Geocaching brings you to places you would not visit without it.

That's what we try to do with this cache near the Early Christian basilica of St. George, restored by the noted mediaevalist, Professor A. Orlandos. It is believed that this church constituted the nave of a small monastery and dates in the second half of the 6th century A.D.

I'm sure that you can reach the Halinados ruins in a 'normal' car if you start at Agia Paraskevi. At N39° 14.775 E026° 16.647 you go East. But maybe it is not the most obvious way. It's up to you !

If you want a nice 4WD ride, you can start at N39° 08.674 E026° 24.725. You drive to Pigi and Komi.

at N39°11.286 E026° 24.427 you go direction Agio Paraskevi.
at N39° 12.457 E026° 21.838 go West
at N39° 13.409 E026° 20.030 go West

Feel free to visit the ruins. The door is open. Just to be absolutely sure the cache can be found at all times, the stash is hidden outside the Halinados area.

To close the box : push firmly on the 4 corners until you hear the 'click'. These boxes were used by the US army so they must be able to keep a piece of paper dry....
Here is a movie showing how to close the box.

Small note on cache maintenance: There is a local cache guardian. Name and contact info on file with geocaching.com.
