De Joodse begraafplaats van Vlaardingen

Deze Joodse begraafplaats uit 1862 is bij niet veel mensen bekend.
Het doel van deze geocache is om informatie te geven over en
meer bekendheid te geven aan deze lokatie.
Nadat een klein aantal joden toestemming had gekregen van koning Wilhelm III
tot het vormen van een gemeente is deze plaats ontstaan.
Sinds 1938 kwam de begraafplaats in zijn huidige vorm tot stand.
Sindsdien maakt de begraafplaats deel uit van een plantsoen.
Er is 1 onbeschadigde grafsteen te zien en er zijn nog wat fragmenten
van stenen van kindergraven.
Eigenlijk is de begraafplaats nog 2 a 3 keer zo groot.

Het hek is gesloten ivm zwerfvuil en kan op verzoek worden geopend.
Voor de cache hoeft men het terrein niet op.

Graag de cache via hoofdpad benaderen en niet zoeken als mensen de plaats bezoeken.
Dit gebeurt zelden dus rustig zoeken is geen probleem.
Denk om de uitwerpselen van de honden.
Parkeren kan op N 51° 54.605 E 004° 21.582.

In april 2010 heeft de gemeente de plek gewijzigd.
De cache is daarom verplaatst.
Zoek en gij zult vinden!

This Jewish cemetery from 1862 is not known by many people.
The purpose of this geocache is to give information about this place and
to create familiarity with this place.
After a small group of Jewish people got permission from king Wilhelm III
to create a town this place was created.
Since 1938 the cemetery got the present shape.
Since then the cemetery is part of a public garden.
You can see 1 intact tombstone and there are also some fragments of children's
tombstones. The cemetery is actually 2 or 3 times as big as seen here.

The gate has been closed to keep the streetlitter out but can be opened on requests.
You don't have to access the grounds to to grab the cache.
Please approach the cache via the main entrance and don't search when people are
actually visiting the cemetery. This does not happen very often so it's not a problem to
search. Watch out for dog droppings.
You can park at N 51° 54.605 E 004° 21.582.

Our city has changed the location in april 2010.
Therefore the cache was moved to another location.
Seek and you will find!
