Getting Here:
Driving: Parking is on Kirklands Drive in Mearnskirk; cache is a 5-10 minute walk.
Public Transport: Travel to The Avenue Shopping Centre; cache is a 20-25 minute walk.
The path starts in Wyvis Place. There is a path that is to the right of the final house (see attached photo). The path goes around and up the hill behind the houses. Cache is a 5-10 minute walk from here. I've increased the terrain rating slightly since it was originally published. Once you get there, it shouldn't take you too long to get the cache. There are two small fences near the cache, an older collapsed fence, and a newer fence. There is no need to climb over the newer fence. Some previous finders have approached the cache over the fields from the south; this alternate route misses out on the great view of Glasgow and would involve climbing over the new fence, so it is not recommended for that reason, however the terrain would be easier until you reach the fence itself!
Start of the path: 
The cache was originally placed in 2009 by my friend Andrew (andrew28). Andrew is no longer an active cacher, so he let me take over ownership of this cache as of October 2015. If Andrew returns to caching in the future, I'll transfer ownership back. This was Andrew's first cache hide, and the only remaining active one. This was also my first FTF. There is a great view of the city from the path to the cache.
Near by, is the original Mearnskirk Hospital which opened in 1930. It has now been converted to flats. but worth a look at. For more info on the hospital go to: http://www.portaltothepast.co.uk/article/3205/Mearnskirk-Hospital.
While here for this cache, note that the parking location is the same parking location as for Langrig Lane (GC6632F) so I recommend you try to that cache as well!
