FORCA Séc XIV.

(Por) Habitualmente, a forca localizava-se nos arredores da povocao, em ponto ben visivel. A plicacao da justica tinha um proposito dissuasor, demostrando pela aplicacao da pena de morte e no modo como os corpos eran deixados em exposicao. A forca de Vila Nova de Cerveira nao foge a esta regra. Sendo um objecto de negra memória, mantém-se ainda hoje bem conservada, faltando-lhe unicamente as traves de suspensao.
