Sandon Point has been famous for many things over the years; its amazing views, its Aboriginal Heritage, its historic boat sheds, its development controversy, its old jetty, and even a whaling station. Not to mention that given the right wind and swell combination, it is one of the best point breaks on the East Coast of Australia. A world renowned spot in many ways, especially when it comes to surfing!
Hoojar grew up just near here and would surf this break most afternoons after school.
There are plenty of things to do and spots for a picnic too. You may even spot a dolphin or two. Once one jumped over Hoojar's surfboard!
This is also a great start/finish point for the Northern Wollongong Cycleway.
Enjoy. Oh, and bring a camera!
