Geocache Description:

PRESS RELEASE
For Immediate Release

The Academy of Angels has placed a local branch office in Alimagnet Park near the park's top-end baseball complex. According to the Academy, the office will be constantly manned, or angelled, over the summer months to provide faster service to ball players in need of a little assistance. In mid-October, the Academy will evaluate needs to determine if reduced hours are in order for the offseason.

The baseball complex at Alimagnet Park features two full-sized, lighted fields. It is one of the only back-to-back ball field configurations in the state of Minnesota. The fields are named for Bob Bunnell and Rich VanderLaan, two big contributors to the local baseball community. The office is located beyond center field of the Bob Bunnell stadium.

The office (cache container) includes back-to-back clear plastic peanut butter jars. The overall size is about 4" dia x 10" long. One jar serves as a display case (with black tape). The display case jar is glued to its respective lid. Please don't try to unscrew the display side jar. The other jar (camoflauged) can be unscrewed. The camoflauged end includes a log, writing instrument an a bit of swag. The container is patterned after the containers used in the Hard Hat Series (thanks Paklid and others for the idea).

"Inevitably, some team in the majors, little leagues or bush leagues, has a slow start early in the season and seems destined to finish in the cellar when all of the sudden things turn around. We are here to lend a hand in those turn arounds" stated an Official from the Academy. The official added, "the level of play here at Alimagnet is pretty high, and our Angels have to work hard so we want someone here that can quickly evaluate situations and call up the right amount of help. No use expending extra Angelpower when you don't have to."

Some doubt that Angels help the players or teams. However, this phenomenon is well documented in several movies. In a 1951 movie titled "Angels in the Outfield" Angels helped the Pittsburgh Pirates. In 1994, the movie was remade by Disney. In this version, the Angels helped out their namesake, the California Angels (now known as the Anaheim Angels). Here is a trailer from the remake: (visit link)

Hope you have fun with this. Invariably, we all need help sometime. Hopefully, there will be an Angel in your outfield when you need some help. Remember, according to Al, the Boss Angel from the 1994 Movie, "Even though you can't see us, we're always watching."
