Geocache Description:

Ammo can in a wooded area.

A cache in Empie Park in Wilmington NC. The cache is not at the listed coordinates but they will get you close! This cache was setup and used at an event to celebrate the 14th anniversary of The Church of St Peter the Fisherman. The clues are listed below for you to solve for the cache location. Enjoy!

N 34º 13.ABC W077 º 54.XYZ

The final location is marked with a white “flag” due to signal bounce. You should be able to see the flag when you are getting close to the cache. You will need to be in the woods a bit. There is also a letterbox nearby at the base of a pine tree.

First Clue

You need to know the chapter and verse number for one of the most widely quoted verses from the Bible. This famous verse is also often seen on signs at large sporting events. This should be relatively easy to figure out since I am going to give you the verse.

Here is the verse:
“For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life.”

John _:_ _

To get A: Divide the third number by the first number.
To get C: Add the second and third number together. Now subtract 2.

Second Clue

I am looking for another number. I have listed a bunch of hints to help with the “guessing”.

This number holds particular significance in the Bible. There are at least ten instances in the Old and New Testament where this number occurs, either in years or days, e.g. it rained for this number of days and nights, Moses was on the mountain this same number of days and nights, the Israelites wandered this number of years, Jesus fasted in the wilderness for this same number of days and was seen on the earth for this number of days after His crucifixion.
On a side note, U2 also has a song that is based on the Psalm with the same number.

To get X: X= second digit of the number
To get B: Divide the number by 4 and then subtract 8

Third Clue

I am sure you are all familiar with the story of Jonah. Here is a quick recap:

God calls Jonah to go condemn the evils of Ninevah. Jonah, however, isn’t one bit interested in the job, and to escape from “the presence of the Lord” he hops a ship going the other way. Unamused, Yahweh harries the vessel with winds and tempests until the terrified crew forces Jonah to confess. The crew decides the best way to save the ship is to toss Jonah overboard. This is where God steps in with his “great fish”, in whose belly Jonah cowers after he has been swallowed.
This gives Jonah time to write a hymn of thanksgiving to Yahweh, which he recites form the belly of the fish. Hearing this, “the Lord spake unto the fish and it vomited out Jonah upon the dry land” – in other words, right back where he started from. Only this time he does go to Ninevah, prophesying the city’s imminent doom, which for once causes the people to repent. Jonah is actually angry that his preaching has worked and that God has spared the city despite its history of wickedness. Clearly, Jonah has learned nothing about mercy from his experience in the fish’s belly and God has to teach him another lesson – this time with a gourd and a worm. To make a long story short: God values his creations and doesn’t destroy them easily.

Here in the question you need to answer: How many days and nights was Jonah in the whale?

To get Y: multiply the number by 5 and then subtract 10
To get Z: add 2 to the number
