Located in the Chippewa Nature Center.
This is our first cache. The nature center is one of our favorite places to visit. If this cache could talk it would say, "as the woodland floor around me decays, I continue to grow straight and strong. Because of the way I am formed I can protect your treasures very well."
This cache is accessible from the main parking lot, but better yet off Pine River Road. There are several areas in which you can pull off the road. Located across from Pine River Elementary School. There is no actual trail that goes to this cache. The terrain is fairly flat with little hills here and there. The woods are fairly easy to walk through. Please be on the lookout for our many wildlife friends.
Cache is a large lock -n-lock container. It contains mostly geocaching items. FTF prize: metal geocaching pin. Other items: log book and pencil, photo album, swiss army knife, geocaching: decal, bracelet and assorted buttons.
It also contains a geocoin (Isle Royale National Park) that is meant to stay in the cache and not travel.Please discover it (write down the number on the coin)and when you log it in you will get a cool little icon on your page, but please do not move the coin to another cache.
