A small hanging container attached at chest height. Easily reachable from the pavement. Please return carefully as found.
Possibly what could seem a rather boring spot, but there is a rather splendid 1907 Pumping station opposite which these days seems a little large for the job it does. I suppose when it was equipped with it's original Diesel ram pump blast injection engines by Mirrlees, Bickerton and Day (I'm not making this up) they probably took up a bit of room. The cache is here to mark the end of the 17 mile long 42 inch water main which flows up to the nearby reservoir from Kempton Park. The course of this artery can be spotted and followed on google earth as there are no buildings on the line of the pipe, and although it can be tricky in places, some sections are clearly visible. From the cache site the main runs pretty much due west behind the houses along the base of the reservoir. Hidden on the feast of St. Gorfor.
