A replacement for my original Six Mile Inn micro cache. The cache is now much easier to find than it used to be.
Near this cache is a chunk of stone with a small plaque that indicates that this was once the position of the Six Mile Inn.
The Six Mile Inn was built by Robert Adams in the early 1860's. It was first licenced in 1865. He ceased to be the manager in 1874.
The Inn was a popular stopover for the mail coaches that used to come along here and for travellers. The Inn was also the used for stock sales and holding the local picnic races.
Yaxley Height, became the last licencee of the Inn until it was closed in 1894
In 1901, the Six Mile Inn was demolished.
Nothing remains here of the original Inn. The stone and plaque are the only reminders of this place.
This cache is located in a 110 km/h zone so it's definitely best if the geobrats remain safe in the car. The local airport is in clear view, as is the Giant Cotton Bud, which used to house another of my caches.
Enjoy.
