Geocache Description:

This geocache was placed to honour our favourite reptiles. We just love Ontario’s snakes! Feel free to take a tradable item from this cache, but please leave something of equal or greater value in its place. Of course, snake-related tradable items are preferred. You can walk to the cache, but this one is mountain bike geocaching at its best!

The cache is an ammo box located a few meters off the trail in the Waterloo Hydrocut Mountain Bike trails. Park at N 43° 25.741 W 080° 33.798, then it is a quick bike ride or 15 minute hike along a scenic walking/biking trail through the woods (see link to trail map above). Cache is hidden on the trail section adjacent the landfill aptly named "Stinky Girl". If you are in a hurry, you can take the less scenic shortcut along the gravel road marked with 'no bicycles' signs, but you will miss out on a beautiful walk through the woods.

Can't find the trail entry? Just watch for the cyclists...they know where to go.

Insect repellant is strongly recommended during mosquito season.

If you are hiking, watch for cyclists, and move well off the trail when they come through. Please respect the trails, which are maintained by volunteers.

When first placed, the cache contained a log and pencils, about 20 plastic snakes, a book about reptiles and amphibians, a few plastic lizards, stickers, a toy snake egg, a mouse (snake food) and two skipping ropes (serpentine!).

This cache was the launching site for the “Kobe the Cobra” travel bug.
