Mile Square Regional Park (a brief intro from Wikipedia) includes at least two lakes, three 18-hole golf courses, baseball and softball fields, picnic shelters, and a 20-acre urban nature area planted with California native plants, a 55 acre recreation center with tennis courts, basketball courts, racquetball courts, the Kingston Boys & Girls Club, and a community center.
The park derives its name from the near-perfect square of land that it occupies, bounded by Edinger and Warner Avenues on the north and south sides, and Brookhurst and Euclid Streets on the west and east sides, respectively. It measures one mile (1.6 km) on a side, for a total area of one square mile, or 640 acres (2.6 km2). It is a great place for a walk, a run, or bike ride with your kids, or your geodog.
This cache will take you to the interior part of the park, righ next to one of the golf courses. It maybe best to grab this one during the day! Cache is camo'd to blend in with it's surrounding. Log only so please bring your own pen/pencil. Please put the cache back to where you found it. Prize for the FTF.
Congrats to Smoochersmom and Bajatym for the FTF!
