Off the Beaten Trail Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

Big Doggy: Slipped past the fence to check on this. Tree and tether are still there, but the tree is ribboned (probably to keep from cutting down this 3' diameter giant), but cache is gone. Archiving as it seems unlikely the spot would continue as a good choice.

Geocache Description:

After placing my Laborde Lookout cache, I continued hiking with my faithful furry companion, Buster, along a terrific walking trail winding our way through the heart of the 33-acre Courturie Forest and Arboretum (visit link) and eventually arrived at the northern reach. A scenic bayou wraps around the whole northern extent in a big arched crescent and Buster took full advantage of our proximity to plunge in and cool himself off from the warm May afternoon sun. While was he was doing so, I was admiring a swing that somebody rigged to a majestic oak tree, but a little troubled by the way the suspending cables were chaffing the bark.

Anyway, I was inspired to share this pleasant spot with my caching friends by placing a cache nearby. The rest is up to you. Signal stability near ground zero will be a little rubbery, but if you think about the cache name as you approach the area, you’ll have no problem. Good luck and have fun.
