Geocache Description:

This cache was placed for the BCGA Cache Blitz '09

In the 1920's, Sproule Creek was a logging area, and timber was milled in the canyon. Wildfires swept through in the 1930's. All that remains of the industry of the time is some rusty metal and bricks from the mill, the wagon road, and the railway that ran through. Now, the well-graded trail follows Sproule Creek through forest for 5 km to the mill site. Enjoy the walk!

Directions:
Turn off highway 3A onto Taghum Frontage Rd at the Shell station. Turn north onto Sproule Creek Rd and follow it until the pavement ends. Park just before the small vehicle bridge crossing Sproule Creek. On foot, cross the bridge and look for the trail on your right (there's a hiker sign). Follow the Millsite Trail about 3.5 km to the cache. The trail continues past this point through more open vegetation and veers away from the creek. At the time the cache was placed, continuing along the trail required crossing the creek on a log or by jumping; the bridge didn't quite make it to the shore.
