I was on my way back from Armco Park, heading for a nice 1-mile walk and a romp in a creek, when I saw this huge cemetery in front of me. I really couldn't believe there wasn't already a cache in there and I didn't remember ever noticing the cemetery there before. But I pulled in and played with my Blackberry to check for nearby caches. Nope. There was one in the cemetery across the street (which I had apparently already found, but didn't remember), but nothing in the cemetery I was in. So, I found a place for the container and hoped I wasn't missing something. And just as I was placing it, I noticed some newly arrived muggles looking my way with more than minimal interest. So, I scrapped that idea, at least for the time, and headed for the above mentioned romp in the creek. (You all did want to know all that, right?)
But I came back after that and got the cache placed, only barely escaping the attention of the still ambient mugglicity. (I apparently didn't pick a real good day to hide a cache in a cemetery.)
And what do I find out when I get home to check things out in more detail? There did indeed used to be a cache in that cemetery, about 104 feet from where I just put one. (And it's another one that I had already found but can't remember. I wonder if I need to get out less? But that cache, regrettably, got archived in January, which explains why I didn't see it pop up when I checked before.
As I said, it's a cemetery. Please respect that fact. Nighttime's a no-no. It's reasonably far from grave markers; there's no need to get very near or disturb any markers, or anything related to them.
Please cover it back up when you're finished. Otherwise, there will be a very good view of it from at least one angle.
And watch out for splinters.
