A quick grab and go out in the country. Enjoy the ride, the wildlife, and maybe a hot air balloon or two. Although these caches are in a series, they are all stand-alone caches, and they are not connected to a final cache.
When our kids were little we made a habit of taking them for a car ride out into the country just before bed. Bath, jammies and head to the car . . . this was the routine almost every night during the Spring, Summer and Fall seasons. By the time we got home, both kids were asleep and we were quite relaxed from a very enjoyable drive in the country.
We always told the kids we were going on a "Deer Run" because we would usually see several white-tailed deer. But as we drove around the St. George area we would also see pheasants, American kestrels, red-tailed hawks, Baltimore orioles, indigo bunting, belted kingfishers, falcons, wild turkeys, great blue heron, night heron, several species of ducks, loons, swans, geese, turtles, beavers, muskrats, coyotes, fishers, foxes, racoons, jack rabbits, cottontail rabbits, skunks . . . well, yes . . . the list goes on and on . . .
Our family thoroughly enjoyed these country visits, and as the kids got older their friends would ask if they could go on a "Deer Run" with us.
Since we visited specific places over and over, the kids decided to rename a lot of the country roads we traveled. These places have all become near and dear to our family over time, and now we will share them with you.
The story behind the cache -
From time to time we would enjoy an extra bonus . . . hot air balloons! A Kitchener company, specializing in hot air balloon rides, would frequent the skies over St. George in the early evening. We would travel in the direction the balloons were floating, hoping to get close enough to watch them as they landed. Many times we actually joined the "chase vehicles" trying to guess which farmer's field would be the likely landing zone.
This section of Sager Rd. has been one of our frequent "balloon-gazing" spots. Hope you are fortunate enough to catch a glimpse of some balloons while you are in the area.
There is no reason for you to search close to the road or on private property. The cache is hidden in a fairly obvious spot.
You should be able to pull over along this country road for a quick grab 'n go.
CONGRATULATIONS "AfghanQueen" & "O-ironman" FTF!
