Red Hill ViewPoint
An easy cache and dash . . . after taking your fill of the stunning view from this viewpoint overlooking False Bay and Simon’s Town. It’s a great place to spot visiting Southern Right Whales from August-October! Park in the large area provided – you can get within 1m of the cache if the space isn’t taken!
Of course this is a periodically high muggle intensity area, so you will need to time your movements well – early morning for the sunrise over the Hottentot Holland mountains would be the best – and have a good story or convincing appearance in case you get muggled by surprise! After dark is another possibility when you will see all the lights of Simon’s Town and around the bay.
Both of these are of course weather permitting – this spot is pretty exposed if there is any unpleasant weather around!
The cache is a black 35mm film canister with just a logbook and pencil. Please replace it carefully as you found it, a) so that it is properly concealed - as the cache has been muggled twice before and b) doesn’t get pushed to far into the small hole in the wall so that it cannot be easily removed.
