Kraslava Rome Catholic Church – it is the brightest example of Latgale baroque architecture. The fresco “St. Ludwig going to Crusade” by Italian artist Filipo Castaldi of the 18th century is placed in the altar part of the church. The fresco is one of most valuable pieces of monumental art in Latvia.
The theological seminary building, which is close to the church, was built in the middle of the 18th century. Kraslava theological seminary was the first scholastic institution for higher education in Latvia.

Baznicas galvenais uzmanibu piesaistošais objekts ir Sv. Donata kaplica. Ar Romas pavesta Pija VI atlauju 1778.gada uz Kraslavu tika parvestas Sv. Donata relikvijas un kopš ta laika Sv. Donats tiek uzskatits par baznicas aizbildni. Sv. Donata diena Kraslava ir lieli svetki, salidzinami ar 15. Augusta svetkiem Aglona.
Blakus baznicai Kraslava savulaik ir pastavejusi pirma augstaka macibu iestade Latvija – Kraslavas Garigais seminars. Tas tika atverts vel pirms Jelgavas Petera akademijas dibinašanas 1775.gada.

The plate is not located at the central entry in the church, but you can see it and read what is written on the plate even not entering the territory.
