Geocache Description:

On the outskirts of Cootamundra stands a lone Hanomag tractor as a tribute to the world record attempt on Easter Sunday in 2004 that witnessed an incredible day in tractor history.

With the previous world record of tractors ploughing a paddock at one time set at 1,833 , many months of planning went into the world record attempt.
Tractors of all shapes and sizes took part from the USA,Europe ,South Africa, many other countries and all over Australia. One particular farmer at Wombat brought 48 of his own tractors, as a massive logistical attempt was set for Easter Sunday 11 th April ,2004 on a 100,000 acre farm. With large transporters needed just to arrange transport of the wide range of tractors,it took 3 days to arrange the set-up of the event. The true patriotism of Australia shone through on the day as midday arrived and they still had only 1701 tractors present, some 133 short of the number. After some frantic phone calls an extra 200 tractors rolled into Cootamundra to the crowd of thousands and at 4.30p.m. ,the world record was achieved with an unbelievable sight of 1,901 tractors ploughing the same paddock simultanously .

The lone colourful Hanomag tractor ,plaque and information sign now stand as a reminder of the World Record day that occured nearby .The cache is a 200ml sistema blended into its surroundings .It contains a log-book and pencil within a zip-lock bag and a swag a "farmers" treats. Please re-hide the cache exactly how you found the hide. FTF HONORS :......Jeff Tickell.
