Geocache Description:

Another in the ever popular Yorkes Crossing series

Rocky Glen Grommets were keen to place a cache here to celebrate the Mallee Fowl but also because the local historical township was the home for Mum Grom's uncle some 40 years ago - back then this part of the foot was scrub with gypsum roads and was quite different. It was always fun visiting "Corky" who would be cray fisherman during the cray season and then take off to Cooberpedy in the off season and he would mine for opal!

Interestingly, Dad Grom now gardens for the late Overseeres wife - she lived here with her beloved husband 40 odd years ago as well before moving to Stenhouse and then later up the leg. Lots of tales to be told and shared.

We hope you enjoy the walk around the nearby historical town - it's agreat part of the world. Who knows ?? You might even see the Mallee Fowls which frequent the area!
