Geocache Description:

A short walk at the Lamoille County Nature Center.

The Lamoille County Natural Resources Conservation District & Nature Center (LCNRCD) is a not for profit organization established in 1945 in response to the degradation of natural resources vital to the agricultural livelihood of residents in Lamoille County. Working in partnership with the USDA's Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS), LCNRCD works to:
  • maintain and improve our natural resources
  • aid and educate our fellow citizens to appreciate and adjust to the changes taking place in our natural resource system
  • and be a local voice for conservation, preservation and stewardship of all natural resources
  • and work in conjunction with other agencies (private and public) at the grassroots level.
The Nature Center has a diverse habitat, a system of nature trails, and serves as an outdoor classroom for many area residents. The tall grass in the meadow can be wet at times, so wear appropriate footwear. Park near the kiosk off of Cole Hill Rd., at N 44°32.536 W 072°39.528. If summer camp is in session, please use discretion and avoid visiting the area near the tipi, as this is a hub of camp activities. Thanks go to the staff at LCNRCD for allowing us to cache here.
