Preston Old Road to nowhere....
When Bill takes Philip, Dinah, Lucy-Ann and Jack on a mysterious trip to the desolate northern isles, everything looks sets for an exciting time. But then Bill is kidnapped and the children, marooned far from the mainland, find themselves playing a dangerous game of hide-and-seek with an unknown enemy.
The Adventure Series by Enid Blyton, a prolific English children's author, is a series of eight children's novels. As a child, these were my favourites, and thought I'd let you enjoy a bit of adventure too!
These books feature the same child characters: Philip, Jack, Dinah, and Lucy-Ann, along with several adult characters. Jack's pet cockatoo is also a standard feature in each novel, and the bird always comes through with some raucous utterance that amuses everyone or helps the children to evade danger.
The stories show the four children off on their own, discovering and solving mysteries without much adult assistance. Although the publication dates span a decade, Blyton reportedly wrote each of the novels in less than a week.
This is a set of caches based on the 'Adventure' book series. Each cache gives a clue and this is needed to find the final cache. You don't need any info other than what you find in the caches.You do not have to do the caches in any particular order, other than the last one done last :)
Three caches are small, the rest are at least .75l, about an sandwich sized tub. Some contain pens, some don't so make sure you take a pencil and paper with you. The caches vary in difficulty. Some caches will require a bit of hiking, so wellies and a level of fitness is recommened. Not pushchair friendly!
This route has every part of adventure that I found in these books... as a word or warning, I answered my phone while avoiding a muddy bit, hung on to the wire fence, fell in anyway and have a very sore two fingers and left arm! You need to keep your wits about you!
Long trousers and gardening gloves are recommended as some caches sites have nettles or brambles in the vicinity.
