Kits Bits #1 - Waterfront Wonders Multi-Cache

This cache has been archived.

Wizard of Ooze: As the cache owner has not indicated that they have visited the cache location to replace it if missing, perform needed maintenance, or verify that it is still there within the requested time period, I am regretfully archiving the cache to clear it from the active cache database and open the area to new caching opportunities.

If the cache owner would like to replace a cache at this location, please submit a new geocache listing and it will be reviewed under the current geocaching.com guidelines. Please don’t post a note on your archived listing as it won’t be forwarded to me and I won’t see it. If you need to contact me, please do so by emailing me through the contact link on my geocaching.com profile page or through my website www.wizardofooze.com

Thank you for your contributions to geocaching, and we hope to see you actively geocaching once again in the near future.

Geocache Description:

Enjoy this dog-friendly walk along the Kitsilano waterfront – it’s one our favourites in Vancouver! The cache - a small lock'n'lock - is located 2.6km from the posted location, so be prepared for a good walk or go by bike. You will need to gather information and work out a series of waypoints that will lead you in the right direction. All waypoints are in the format N49 16.xxx, W123 0x.xxx. Please take your photo using the disposable camera!

1. Go to the posted coordinates. Check out the sign and orientate yourself. Look beyond the sign. What numbers can the coastguard give you? These are ABCD.

2. Go to N49 16.B[(D*3)+C][D-1], W123 0[(A*2)+B].[C+1][A-1][D-1]. Your passage should be clear from here. Which parallel? - EF.

3. Go to N49 16.[A+B][E-D]A, W123 0[C+E-D].[A+B+D][(D+E)*2]C. When was Columbus’ historic voyage? GHIJ.

4. Go to N49 16.BC[B-H], W123 0[I-G].[E+F+G+H][A+H][D+E+G]. How many men went down under? K. How many horses powered each motor? LM.

5. Go to N49 16.BJE, W123 0[E+M].[G+L+M]MK. No water here. What year was the dedication ceremony? NOPQ.

6. Go to N49 16.CPN, W123 0O.FON. How many types of rain can you find in the third paragraph? R

7. Go to N49 16.HLK, W123 0R.LKH. For how many years did this great man guard our beaches? ST

8. Go to N49 16.ERQ, W123 0O.SSF. What day and year was this installed? UV, WXYZ.

9. Go to N49 16.HP[U+V], W123 0X.ZKQ. Hurrah! Can you find it?

Congratulations to pumpkin-head for being the FTF!
