Here in Pennsylvania, U.S. Route 22 runs for
319 miles from West Virginia to New Jersey. Where this cache
is placed Rt. 22 is known as Allentown Boulevard and as it nears
Harrisburg it turns into Jonestown Road, Walnut St, Herr St, and
eventually Arsenal Boulevard. No matter what you call it, back in
its hay day it was known as the main route to New York City.
These coordinates will bring you to a little
building that was used as a weigh station by the D.O.T. to weigh
trucks before being allowed to continue their trip. They're no
longer used and today many of them have fallen down or at best are
like this one, about to fall down. Some have been taken over by
squatters selling antiques, flowers, home grown produce, etc. No
matter their condition, they're still a seemingly forgotten piece
of Pennsylvania road side history.

The cache should be easy to find. It's sort of a
small container big enough to hold coins and small items. Please do
not try to drive right up to the cache, park along the road.
Do not go in the weigh station, you'll get
hurt!
This cache was hidden as a replacement for the
original PZC-GT #6. Although the code is the same, this is a brand
new cache.
To claim this cache:
- Find the cache
- Sign the log - BYOP
- Post a photo of yourself at the old weigh station behind you.
(This is not a special logging requirement simply a fun additive to
the cache in an attempt to collect fun photos of all the successful
finders.)
This is part of our Perryzip Crew Geocache Trail
(PZC-GT). In an attempt to share neat places and things, we’ve come
up with this trail around the PA capital region. Please be sure to
make note of the single digit number written on the log. When
you've completed the trail and combine the numbers in cache
numerical order, you'll have the coordinates to the Unknown Cache
'City of Harrisburg - PZC-GT #16 (THE FINAL)'. Have fun!
