Geocache Description:

About the area: This approximately 2-mile roundtrip hike will take you behind Harwood Lake along the Finger Lakes Trail (FLT) in the woods-laden Town of Farmersville, NY. According to the DEC:

Harwood Lake is a 34-acre man-made lake that was built in 1965 for flood control as a part of the Ischua Creek Watershed Protection District. Harwood Lake has a maximum depth of 14 feet and over 1.1 miles of undeveloped shoreline consisting of mowed fields, scrub and some wooded areas. Harwood Lake is open for fishing year round (including ice fishing) and fishing access is unlimited. Shoreline fishing is allowed around the entire lake, and there is also a hand launch for cartop boats and canoes, but no place to launch a trailered boat.

At the backside of Harwood Lake lies Bush Hill State Forest which encompasses over 3,000 acres of wilderness for you to play on!

Finding the cache: Start your journey at the trailhead coordinates listed below for the Finger Lakes Trail. From this point you’ll enjoy a fairly easy hike along he FLT through beautiful hardwood forests full of wildlife.

At the cache page coordinates, you will be looking for a container that will give you information on how to find the final cache. As this is a letterbox hybrid, you will have to follow clues and other directions in order to get your paws on the 50 cal ammo box that is sitting around eagerly awaiting your visit. So make sure you read all directions very carefully!

For your convenience a basic compass will come in pretty handy in finding the final and as always a camera will allow you to capture the many sites we promise you will discover along the way.

Please note that all parts of this cache are located on public lands, and although the FLT does cut through private property, you will not have to go onto private property to complete this letterbox.

Thank you for visiting, we hope you enjoyed your trek through this wonderful area!

PS: If ANYONE needs help with this cache from a terrain, letterbox, etc. standpoint please contact me. I am more than happy to do whatever I can to make this caching experience enjoyable!
