Game Night - End at the Beginning Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

HikingSeal: I checked on this cache Wednesday night after a cacher asked me about it. Cache was in good shape but the hint was missing. Tonight I went to replace the hint and found the outer container kicked in and a gaping hole in the ground. First time it got stolen form this location, it was my fault for not getting the lock replaced. This time is just enough. This cache had a very good run. Thanks to all who found it.

Geocache Description:

If you have read the description of the other caches in this series, you know this is where my friends and I like to come to play board games. At the old location a couple blocks to the north, during the Christmas season we had to find other places to play because of Christmas stock. Playing at my friends' homes was the inspiration behind the cache series. When I started the series I knew I would HAVE to place one here. In my mind it was the final cache of the series. It occurred to me it would be wrong to call this the FINAL cache when it is the location where it all began. Now you know how the cache got its name. It also gives lots of room to continue the series at the homes of other game night hosts.

The cache has been placed with permission, support and advice of all the folks who worked here when he cache was originally placed and a lot of the regular gamers who I am slowly recruiting to caching. So if you look up while you are at the cache to find many faces with noses pressed against the glass watching you, don't worry, we're cheering you on. Feel free to come in and say "Hi!" If you don't like that much attention while you are caching, then I recommend coming outside of the regular business hours for the shopping center. As with all things, time marches on. In the new larger store, there are more gamers and more new staff. By percent not as many people are aware of the cache as used to be. I'm doing my best to educate the new folks. So you may not see quite as many noses pressed to the window as the early finders of this cache.

Once you are in the general area, the name alone will make it pretty obvious where the cache is. The cache should be available even in winter with only a little extra effort. The cache placement was inspired by a very cool cache I found in Oregon, Welcome to Sisters. Ironically on the very day that I placed this cache, that cache was archived.

The theme of the cache is games. Please feel free to bring a copy of your favorite small game and swap it out with one of the games in the cache. If you don't leave a game, please don't take one. Please be fair. No other trades please. Travel Bugs are welcome but are not an appropriate trade for a game. Only trade a game for a game. There are no rules on trading TBs. If you can help one on its way, please do.Thanks!

***NOTE:*** Heads up to everyone. After moving it yesterday (2/12/2012), I revisited it today to do some restocking. I discovered if the weather is at all wet retrieving this cache will be a bit messy. Be prepared or wait until it is dry. Now you know. Further update 5/5/2013: With further maintenance in the past year, I have discovered it's always messy retrieving this cache. Be prepared for dirty and likely wet hands. Please wipe them off a little before you touch the log. Be sure the log bag is sealed well in case the container leaks. Update 7/14/2014 With the upgrade I think the wetness and mud issue will be better.

Have fun!! Cache/Game on!!!
